Phoning it in has a Whole New Meaning

The good folks at the recently established Small Scale Digital Device Forensics Journal might have some interest in this development over the summer. Am I the only person who sees the Fourth Amendment problems with this process? I assume from the story that the police need the physical possession of the target computer; in which case there are no new problems. If they can search any hard drive with an Internet connection, the Kyllo problems are clear.
